As you probably noticed on Instagram, I recently had the chance to visit Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya, an all-inclusive resort near Cancun, Mexico. It was my first time at an all-inclusive resort, and it did not disappoint! Secrets Akumal is where the recent finale of Top Chef was filmed, so we were invited to the finale viewing party and got a chance to experience all the delicious food and wine that Secrets Akumal has to offer. I’ll be doing a separate post with more details about the resort, so more on that to come! For now, I thought I would share with you all of the outfits I wore, and what is essential to pack for your next vacation to an all-inclusive resort.
Flirty Floral Sundresses
I wore this dress our first night of the trip. As soon as we got in, we had a few minutes to change before we headed off to a food and wine pairing dinner. When staying at an all-inclusive resort, you may want to have a couple dress options that are a little fancier than just a beach cover-up, so a mini dress like this is great to have because you’ll still stay cool while looking a little more evening appropriate. Shop this outfit and other floral mini dresses here or in the widget below!
Cut-Off Shorts and Sneakers
I find it’s always nice to have a pair of cut-off shorts that you can easily throw on over your swimsuit at the resort. Even though most people are in their bathing suits, it definitely feels more comfortable to at least have a pair of shorts to throw on. Plus, the restaurants all have dress codes so you’ll at least need some kind of cover-up to go in. Sneakers were a nice option to have, too! Especially if you decide to leave the resort and walk around the nearby towns. By the way, this suit is under $40! It’s a new favorite of mine and can double as a bodysuit too.
Summery Shorts and Crop Tops
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I love a good crop top! This was probably my favorite outfit from the trip. I love the tie-waist shorts paired with the off-the shoulder top – perfect outfit for sipping a pina colada poolside and watching the sun go down 🙂 These shorts are still available in two sizes, and I linked some other shorts I love below. You can also shop more off the shoulder crop tops here.
One-pieces have definitely made a comeback in the past few years, and I am very grateful for that! This color blocked style is sporty but still sexy! It’s nice to have some versatility in your swimwear and have some non-bikini options, especially when at the resort. Find more one-pieces I love (and color blocked two-pieces) in the widget below and here.
I think this one is pretty obvious, but you know what – I say go all-out with your bikinis on your trip! Try creative styles and different colors/prints that maybe you wouldn’t usually buy because you’re on vacation! And you won’t see anyone from that resort ever again. May as well channel your inner Beyonce and really get stylish with your ‘kini! Some of my favorites are linked below 🙂

I hope this outfit roundup is helpful for you next time you’re planning a beach vacation! When you’re at an all-inclusive resort, half the fun is wearing fun, summery outfits, so don’t be afraid to try something new!
