41 Fashion and Beauty Hacks – Bloggers Share What REALLY Works

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks that really work: top bloggers reveal what fashion and beauty tips really work for them. Some of them are hilarious! All are downright genius!

Need some fashion and beauty hacks in your life? Me too!

Bloggers have some of the best advice when it comes to fashion and beauty, so earlier this year I interviewed a bunch of my favorite bloggers for a new series here on My Boring Closet. The series is called “Bloggers Overshare” and I’ll be debuting a new topic from the interviews at least once a month.

For today’s post, I asked, “What is your weirdest fashion or beauty hack?” The answers are hilarious and very helpful! I’ve sorted the fashion and beauty hacks by category so you can easily find what you’re looking for. To see more, be sure to check out each blogger’s website!

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Nicholle of Topknots and Pearls shares her top fashion hack on My Boring Closet
Nicholle, Topknots and Pearls: Hairspray is the best static electricity cutter, if you will. When your skirt or dress, or even your blouse, is clinging in all the wrong places, spray hairspray in between your skin and the clothing! (thanks mom!)

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Leah of Eat Pray Wear Love shares her top fashion hack on My Boring Closet

Leah, Eat Pray Wear Love: Fashion tape! I love swimsuits or evening gowns with plunging necklines, so fashion tape is essential to keeping everything in tack.

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Alice of Lone Star Looking Glass shares her top fashion hack on My Boring Closet

Alice, Lone Star Looking Glass: Hmmm right now it’s probably using a rubber band to keep my jeans up! By the time you share this, I will have just had my baby girl. Rubber bands are a lifesaver for getting back into your favorite blue jeans sooner, post pregnancy!

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Kris of With Love from Kris shares her top fashion hack on My Boring Closet

Kris, With Love from Kris: Wearing tops backwards if I want to to look diff. Example: I like the button on the back vs the crew neck in the front so I wear the button side up front and I have a whole new shirt!

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Dana of Pink Champagne Problems shares her top fashion hack on My Boring Closet

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Channing of Blue Mountain Belle shares her top fashion hack on My Boring Closet

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Jessica of My Style Vita shares her top fashion hack on My Boring ClosetJessica, My Style Vita: Back in college I used to sell shoes at Nordstrom and there’s one shoe fit hack I learned that I swear by. If your shoe is a touch too big and your heel slips out, put a foot pad (I really like Footpetals since they’re thin and also comfortable) in the FRONT of your shoe. It pushes your foot back, versus forward. If you push your foot forward, you’ll have cramped toes, and guess what, your foot will likely still slip out of the shoe. It’s life changing, and it helped me sell a lot more shoes!

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Sushmitha of Miss Minus Sized shares her top fashion hack on My Boring Closet

Sushmitha, Miss Minus Sized: Using double-ply toilet paper instead of boob tape. (I know, so weird, but it totally works for me!)

Shelbi, It’s All Chic to Me: Not sure if this qualifies but it’s a total life saver for photo shoots. If you get deodorant on your clothing, simply take a clean sock and rub it against your clothing. It will come right off!

Lacey, The Glitter Gospel: Vaseline around the spaces on your feet that your heels will rub! Magic I tell ya!

Ashley, Dressed to Kill: Always carry binder clips or clamps with you. I use these on a daily basis for styling commercials and definitely use them for myself if I need a garment to fit better.

Sarah, Sassy Red Lipstick: Wear thick socks with Louboutins around my house to stretch them out… and pulling out the blow dryer to add some heat to help mold them into a larger size.

Nina, Law of Fashion Blog: So embarrassing, sometimes if I’m shooting a look and the jeans are too big on me for the shot, I’ll use binder clips to make them look more like skinny jeans on me! LOL

Carolina, CHIC TALK: I wash my delicate clothes with baby shampoo to keep them soft!

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Sydney of Styled By S shares her top fashion hack on My Boring ClosetSydney, Styled By S: When the time comes around and you get a pimple, the best thing is to put polysporin on it. I do this rather than acne treatments or cleansers because the polysporin will 1. kill the bacteria 2. take the redness away and 3. it acts fast! Another tip would be to take Advil liquid gels, poke a hole, and squeeze the gel on the pimple!

Sher, Sher She Goes: Not a hack per se but I swear by glycolic pads! They look and feel like they don’t do anything but the slight acidity keeps your pores super clear and your skin glowing! Bye bye acne.

I like to use a buffing brush and shade the sides of my neck, around my collar bone, and sometimes in the valley of my boobs. I swear this instantly makes me look five pounds thinner.

41 Fashion and Beauty hacks: Alexandra of I'm a Little shares her top beauty hack on My Boring Closet

Brittani, By Brittani Lauren: I’m not sure if this qualifies as weird, but whenever I deep condition my hair, I don’t follow the instructions and put the deep conditioner on while in the shower with wet hair. I put it on dry hair instead and found it works so much better that way!

Rach, RD’s Obsessions: Using straight up coconut oil and rubbing it all over my hair has a hair treatment regime.
