One of my favorite things about visiting Charleston, SC a few weeks ago was that every time I turned a corner, I thought “OMG THIS IS THE CUTEST STREET EVER!” The town was made to be photographed! But, I was determined to find the street with “all the cute pastel houses,” and we made sure to find it. Turns out, that cute street is called Rainbow Row, and there were so many people taking advantage of these colorful backdrops that for once I didn’t feel out of place as a blogger taking photos!
We took these photos on the way to dinner after a long day of sessions at The Blog Societies conference. Myself and three other bloggers (Meghan, Hillary, and Kristina) treated ourselves to sparking rose and all the small plates at The Ordinary (delicious, but pricey). We particularly loved the ceviche, smoked oysters, and the oyster sliders (if you don’t have seafood when you’re in Charleston, you’re doing it wrong). I wish we had had a couple more days there because I feel like I didn’t get to see everything I wanted to in the city, but hey at least I got to see the highlights!
At dinner, we started talking about jealousy. It’s a topic that comes up from time to time between my boyfriend and me, and it’s certainly not talked about enough among all of us as humans. In my last post, I talked about jealousy among your supposed “competition” and how it doesn’t serve anyone professionally, but the same is true of personal relationships. Jealousy is one of those emotions that comes so easily, and is hard to shut down. I’ve found the best way to silence jealousy when it starts to creep in is to really ask yourself, “why?” Does fueling that jealousy actually help you or make you better? No. It does not. So, take that energy and instead put it into something positive. Anyway, just some food for thought on your Wednesday. Would love to hear your thoughts on the subject!
